President of Uzbekistan and UAE government officials consider deepening partnerships

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the United Arab Emirates headed by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The talks focused on major aspects of multifaceted cooperation in key areas.

The parties noted the growth of partnerships in the trade and economic sectors. Bilateral trade doubled in the first half of 2022; the two countries are implementing 17 joint projects with nearly $3 billion invested and have set up 45 Uzbek-UAE enterprises.

The two countries are boosting energy cooperation. UAE’s Masdar is implementing the large-scale project of the wind and solar power plants in several regions of Uzbekistan, and UAE’s Mubadala is involved to increase production capacity of the power plant in Talimarjan.

Uzbekistan and the UAE are successfully cooperating in other areas, including agriculture, transport and logistics, healthcare, digital technologies and customs management.

The participants emphasised their intention to deepen partnerships in the field of innovation and artificial intelligence, professional training and public administration improvement.
