Kyrgyzstan intends to increase trade with UAE to $250 million

On June 2, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov received a delegation of the United Arab Emirates led by Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. The interlocutors considered strengthening bilateral relations, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“I hope that your visit will give impetus to further strengthen relations between the two countries. In 2021, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE amounted to about $70 million. Certainly, this is a good trend, but we need to increase it by 3-4 times,” Japarov said.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also proposed the creation of the Kyrgyzstan-UAE investment development fund and the opening of the UAE laboratory centre for standardization and the centre for investment attraction in Kyrgyzstan.

The UAE Minister of Economy expressed interest in cooperation in the power, mining and tourism industries. The Arab side is also ready to assist Kyrgyzstan in exporting clean drinking water to the UAE.
