Sardov Umurzakov meets with Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan

On June 2, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan Alison Mary LeClaire, the Dunyo News Agency reported.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and political spheres.

The emphasis was placed on a great potential for building partnerships and attracting Canadian investors from among financial and industrial companies to implement social and economic projects in the chemical, textile, petrochemical, mining and agricultural industries.

Exchanging views on the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors considered holding the Uzbekistan-Canada business forum and Made in Uzbekistan and Made in Canada exhibitions in Uzbekistan and Canada in 2022.

The interlocutors also discussed the progress of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO, Canada’s participation in the implementation of projects under the auspices of the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region, as well as the establishment of cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and the provinces of Canada.
