Representatives of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the head of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi Seyitguly Baiseidov held an online meeting with representatives of organizations and the government of the Astrakhan region. They discussed maritime cargo turnover. It was reported by the press office of the Foreign Affairs Agency of the Russian region.
Head of the Olya seaport Alexander Melnikov, who also took part in the negotiations, said he is ready to develop a car ferry route heading to the Turkmenbashi. Deputy General Director of the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan Merdan Bashimov stressed that the country has the necessary infrastructure that will increase the corresponding cargo turnover.
Employees of the Agency for Transport and Communications of Turkmenistan drew attention to the fact that the agency is ready to provide its ferries for the Olya-Turkmenbashi route if the cargo turnover grows.
As a result of the videoconference, its participants agreed to continue consultations in the relevant direction.
