Kazakhstan authorities informed about completion of repairs in CPC oil pipeline network

On May 27, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov met with CPC Director General Nikolay Gorban. The partners considered the next stages of cooperation on Kazakhstan’s oil exports, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

The CPC Director General said the problems with the throughput capacity of the oil pipeline have been resolved, and the loading of Kazakh oil have been resumed. All remote berthing units operate in the normal mode.

The Prime Minister positively evaluated the work done, commending the prompt actions taken to eliminate the problems and resume oil extraction in Kazakhstan. In this regard, Smailov highlighted the importance of speeding up the implementation of the project to replace the narrow sections of the CPC pipeline network to increase oil supplies from the Tengiz field.

The Prime Minister called upon the CPC Director General to take all necessary measures to ensure the trouble-free transportation through the oil arteries of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. As reported, the CPC transports oil along the shortest route and offers the economic conditions most conducive to exporting oil from the Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan fields. Last year, 53.1 million tons of Kazakh black gold were transported through the CPC network.
