On May 26, President of Tajikistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Emomali Rahmon visited the Shamsiddin Shokhin border detachment on the border with Afghanistan. Rahmon arrived at the Sari Gor border command post of the above-mentioned border detachment, located in Khatlon Region, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
As was reported, the President arrived in the region on the anniversary of the Border Troops of the Republic of Tajikistan. He met with the officers and soldiers and inspects the conditions of their life and service.
The Tajik leader said the Government pays unremitting attention to strengthening border controls and supplying modern military equipment, weapons and ammunition to border detachments.
The President noted the highly complex and sensitive situation in the region and the world.
He called on the soldiers and officers to perform their duties with a high sense of patriotism and congratulated the border guards on the 28th anniversary of the Border Troops of Tajikistan.
