In Ashgabat, the General Director of the Turkmen National Oil and Gas Company (NAPECO) Maksat Pirliyev met with the ambassador of Tajikistan Farrukh Sharifzoda. The parties discussed issues of cooperation in trade and economy. It was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
They focused on the topic of creating a Turkmen-Tajik enterprise for the processing of oil and oil products. Attention was also paid to the possibility of supplying the products to Tajikistan.
Last year, Turkmenistan started selling liquefied gas to Tajikistan. At the end of 2021, about 5,000 tons of the product were delivered to the republic. Dushanbe announced plans to expand the volume of the relevant purchases.
NAPECO is engaged in exploration and drilling, oil and gas production, and implementation of international projects in the fuel and energy sector. The State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan owns 90% of the company.
