On May 19, the chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the plenary session of the XIII International Economic Summit «Russia — Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022» in Tatarstan. During the speech, he said that Ashgabat is ready to expand ties with Kazan, as reported by the press office of the President of Tatarstan.
Berdimuhamedov noted that Tatarstan plays an important role in strengthening cooperation between the Russian Federation and the states of the Islamic world. He commended the contribution of the republic to building up Turkmen-Russian relations.
The head of the Halk Maslakhaty emphasized that such companies as KAMAZ, Tatneft, KER-Holding, and the Kazan Helicopter Plant have proven their effectiveness in the Central Asian country.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov specified that about 5,000 Turkmen students study at universities in Tatarstan. He said that the Central Asian state is ready to strengthen ties with the republic in terms of staff training for various sectors of the economy, in particular in high technologies.
