Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gairat Fozilov took part in the EU-Central Asia High-Level Dialogue. The meeting, which was held in Brussels, focused on political and security issues. The participants also considered key aspects of interregional cooperation in trade, energy, water resources and border management, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The participants discussed the developments taking place in the states of Central Asia and the European Union and considered the progress and promotion of security cooperation. The politicians also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
Particular attention was paid to the EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Samarkand.
The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan represented the Central Asian states at the High-Level Dialogue. Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs, Political Director of the European External Action Service Enrique Mora represented the European side.
