On May 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with new President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi. Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences over the death of President, Emir of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the new President and the people of the United Arab Emirates. The Uzbek leader noted the contribution made by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to promote multi-vector cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates, based on mutual respect and good neighbourliness.
The leaders of the two states exchanged views on the further prospects of partnerships in the trade, economic, investment and other sectors.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with other government officials of the United Arab Emirates, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
