On May 13, the plenary session of the Dialogue of Women of the States of Central Asia and the Russian Federation took place in the capital of Turkmenistan. President of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the participants of the forum, pointing out its importance in expanding political and economic cooperation between the countries, as reported by «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov stressed that the event is held several days before Constitution Day and the Day of the State Flag of Turkmenistan. According to him, it has a deep meaning.
The president noted that the issues of increasing the activity of women in the life of the state and society in the framework of achieving the SDGs until 2030, expanding the role of the fair sex in solving important political, economic and social issues were discussed at the forum
He also drew attention to the fact that the Dialogue of Women of the States of Central Asia and Russia is partly focused on increasing the role of women in the establishment of global peace.
The platform was created with the support of UNDP and UNRCCA in December 2020. This year the forum is held under the topic «The role of women in socio-political, socio-economic development».
