The Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports held a seminar on the results of the competitions initiated by the Senate – the sports competitions “Parliamentary Games” and the contest “Mahalla – the Cradle of Five Initiatives”, the press office of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis reported.
The heads of the secretariats of local Kengashes of people’s deputies, representatives of ministries and departments, deputy khokims for youth issues, members of the Youth Parliament and journalists participated in the seminar.
The Commission members reviewed the results of the 2021 Parliamentary Games, in which local Kengashes members competed in mini-football, volleyball, table tennis and badminton, and the contest “Mahalla – the Cradle of Five Initiatives”. More than 62,500 residents of 1,035 mahallas from all over the country participated in the contest; the winner received the President’s gift – a Damas van.
Based on the results, it was decided to hold the competitions annually. The participants of the seminar deliberated on the shortcomings and faults identified during last year’s competitions. The ministries and departments were instructed to avoid these shortcomings in the future.
