An international scientific conference «Reducing environmental emissions during hydrocarbon developments and managing the Darvaza gas crater» will take place in the capital of Turkmenistan, at the Yyldyz Hotel, on June 23. It was reported by the press office of the exhibition «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan».
The event will be organized by the state-owned enterprises «Turkmengas» and «Turkmennebit» in cooperation with the international event organizer «Turkmen Forum». GaffneyCline, a global oil and gas consulting company, will support them.
At the forum, attention will be paid to modern technologies used in the production of hydrocarbons and the reduction of emissions of associated gas which is harmful to the atmosphere. Emphasis will be placed on finding the best solution to extinguish the Darvaza gas crater that has been burning for over 50 years in the Karakum desert in Turkmenistan.
The conference will also raise the topic of environmental and climate financing of the energy sector of the country. The participants of the event are more than 300 specialists and experts from 70 companies from all over the world.
