On May 4, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the Nazarbayev University in the capital city, where the Kazakh leader learned in detail about the academic and research activities of the higher educational institution, the press office of Akorda reported.
The President showed a keen interest in the large-scale innovation activities of the research staff and students. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev reviewed in detail the master plan of the campus of research centres and laboratories and attended the presentations of scientific ideas designed to modernise the health care, digital integration, agricultural, environmental and sport sectors. These activities are the contribution made by the University to implement the President’s initiatives.
The President was informed about cooperation of the research staff with foreign counterparts, the everyday life of the innovation cluster and the first steps of the graduates of this multidisciplinary institution into the “big science”.
When talking about the “creative” stages of the university groups, the President dwelt on the projects of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence and research activities of the energy space laboratory.
