Raisi feels confident that Turkmen-Iranian relations will develop faster

On May 3, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi, the leaders of Turkmenistan and Iran, had a telephone conversation. The negotiations were focused on the current level of interstate relations and the prospects for their further expansion. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».

Raisi noted that under the administration of the former president of the Central Asian country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Ashgabat and Tehran have achieved good results within the partnership in the field of gas supplies, transit, and railway.

The leader of the Islamic republic expressed confidence that the new head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov will continue to deepen the cooperation and will accelerate the process of strengthening ties in the relevant areas.

The president of Turkmenistan, in turn, assured his colleague that he is interested in making relations between Ashgabat and Tehran stronger. According to Berdimuhamedov, there are various possibilities for this.

The parties also congratulated each other on Oraza Bayram. They wished the Turkmen and Iranian peoples a peaceful and prosperous life, good health, and prosperity.
