Salim Abdulazizov excludes medicine shortage in Tajikistan

On April 29, Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Medicinal Goods of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan Salim Abdulazizov in an interview with the Khovar State News Agency said there is no medicine shortage in the country and there are sufficient reserves of medications in the warehouses.

Abdulazizov emphasised that Tajikistan will face no shortage of medications due to Western sanctions imposed on its main trading partners. He added that medications were delivered the country in a timely manner, without delay, under the contracts.

Specialists conduct checks and inspections to monitor the quality and shelf life of medicinal products, and government officials assess the risks associated with potential shortages.

The Head of the Department of Pharmacy and Medicinal Goods noted that mainly Tajikistan imports medicines from the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, India and a number of EU states. About 150 companies import medicinal products.
