Tokayev: New Kazakhstan is Fair Kazakhstan

On April 26, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev addressed the XXII Congress of the Amanat Party. The main message of his speech was the Party’s role in the implementation of drastic reforms in the life of the country and the creation of a “hearing state”, the press office of Akorda reported.

The President noted that the work on amendments to the Basic Law is underway, without which the implementation of planned reforms is impossible. Tokayev emphasised that the objective of the constitutional reform is to lay a solid foundation for the comprehensive improvement of the political system.

The President said the final draft document is under consideration by the Constitutional Council that, if adopted, will help build a new operating system for state platforms – New Kazakhstan. In this context, the Kazakh leader emphasised that New Kazakhstan, in fact, will be Fair Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev explained that there is no social justice in society, many authorities neglect the interests of ordinary citizens and government officials have acted as implementers of a blatant imbalance of justice in some reported cases. An unrelenting mistrust prevails in the conjuncture of relations between citizens and the platforms of power, and in this regard, the Party must aim to change the unfavourable situation, the President said.

In conclusion, the President said he had resigned the powers of the chairman and membership in the Amanat Party. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev suggested Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament Yerlan Koshanov as his choice. The delegates supported the President’s initiative and unanimously voted for Koshanov.
