Kyrgyzstan aims to promote extreme, mountain and eco-tourism

On April 22, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Zhamangulov informed the Ata-Zhurt Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction about the ongoing preparations for the summer tourist season, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The parliamentarians identified the approaches to increasing the effectiveness of state policy and creating an enabling environment for the development of Kyrgyzstan’s tourism industry.

Urging to pay attention to the mechanisms used by Georgia and Turkey to promote their tourism potential in other countries, the parliamentarians proposed to use these mechanisms to develop a modern tourism infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan.

It was noted that Kyrgyzstan has a potential for developing mountain, extreme and pilgrimage tourism, however, no effective work is being done to promote and develop them.

A parliamentarian Kamila Taliyeva proposed to pay special attention to promoting eco-tourism in Kyrgyzstan, noting that an integrated approach needed to be used to develop tourism.
