Tajikistan and Belarus consider setting up carpet factory

On April 20, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda and Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Dinisenko held talks in Dushanbe. The interlocutors discussed the possibility of setting up a carpet factory, the press office of the Ministry reported.

Zavkizoda and Denisenko considered the prospects and possibility of building a joint venture that would produce carpets in the Sughd free economic zone. They expressed readiness to make the necessary efforts to enhance partnerships.

The talks also focused on expanding the exports, namely fruits, vegetables and dried fruits from Tajikistan to Belarus. The emphasis was placed on the need to increase bilateral trade.

The Minister of Economic Development and the Ambassador emphasised that interstate cooperation would not have achieved the current level without the wisdom and prudence of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
