The international beauty contest for Akhal-Teke horses was held in Turkmenistan. Thoroughbreds with famous pedigree took part in the event. In total, twenty steeds made it to the final. It was reported by the «MIR 24» TV channel .
As part of the competition, the appearance of the horse, its behavior, and obedience were evaluated. Particular attention was paid to the execution of commands and gait. According to the head juror Saragt Babayev, it is difficult to choose the best horse, since all of the participants are great.
At the final stage, the horses walked twice in front of a group of experts, first without equipment, and then with carpet blankets and the saddle. The results will be summed up in a few days. The juries underlined that they need some time to evaluate all the criteria.
International beauty contest for Akhal-Teke horses was established in 2009 by the ex-President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Since 2011, the competition has gained international status. The winner’s owner is usually awarded a premium car.
