On April 16, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the head of the interdepartmental commission of Turkmenistan on observance of human rights Rashid Meredov held a regular meeting dedicated to the international obligations of the country that ensure the protection of the dignity and freedom of each individual, as reported by the press office of the MFA.
Meredov stressed that the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan has taken important steps to protect human rights, as well as to improve compliance with international humanitarian law.
At the meeting, the results of the work of the above interdepartmental commission last year were summed up. Emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation with international organizations.
Particular attention was paid to the work plan for the current year. The events aimed at promoting humane principles will be held during the corresponding period.
At the meeting, it was stated that the relevant commission also expands the level of legal knowledge among the citizens of Turkmenistan and focuses on expanding the access to information for the people.
