Sardor Umurzakov meets with President of Kyrgyzstan

On April 14, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov during his visit to the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, the press office of the Ministry reports.

The talks focused on a wide range of issues of bilateral partnerships in the political, trade, economic, transport, logistics, investment, hydropower, cultural and humanitarian sectors.

Noting that bilateral trade has risen 5 times over the past 5 years and amounted to $950 million, the President of Kyrgyzstan and Sardor Umurzakov said there are all prerequisites for increasing trade up to $2 billion.

Thy also noted the rise in investment, which, among other things, was facilitated by the establishment of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund intended to boost bilateral partnerships in this sphere.

The interlocutors put forward the proposals on intensification of cooperation at the intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels to accelerate the implementation of joint projects.
