Uzbekistan to advance cooperation in transport with Korea

A working group from Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Transport Abdusamat Muminov arrived in the Republic of Korea for a working visit to establish cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors, the press office of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reports.

The Uzbek delegation held meetings with the top managers of the Mayor’s Office and the Port of Busan on April 14. The working group members learned about the progress of the implementation of transport and road construction projects and held talks on maritime logistics issues with Deputy Head of Marketing and International Affairs at the Busan Port Authority Kim Gwang-Min.

The representatives of the Busan Port Authority proposed to conduct free training courses for 10 employees of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan to improve their skills in import and export port operations management.

The talks between the Uzbek delegation and Deputy Mayor of Busan Lee Byung-jin focused on the opportunities of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, road and bridge construction and shipping.

The aspects of partnerships in the air transportation industry were discussed during a meeting with the top managers of the Busan International Airport, in particular Executive Director Jae Hee Park. It was noted that regular flights between Busan and Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand would be launched in the near future.
