Tajikistan unsatisfied with trade cooperation with Lithuania

On April 12, a Lithuanian delegation headed by Ambassador Gintautas Vasiulis arrived in Dushanbe. It was received by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Abdurakhmon Abdurakhmonzoda. The parties discussed current trade cooperation, the press office of the Ministry reports.

Noting that the bilateral potential in the trade and economic sectors remains untapped, Abdurahmonzoda said trade partnerships should be expanded.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of increasing commodity turnover between the two countries and agreed to implement this process gradually.

The emphasis was placed on the prospects of creating joint ventures in the metallurgy, pharmaceutical and engineering sectors in free economic zones. The issues under discussion included search for new buyers of agricultural products and interaction in e-commerce.

Vasiulis said Vilnius is ready to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with Dushanbe and implement the above initiatives.
