On April 11, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov met with President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, a member of the Swedish Parliament Margareta Cederfelt. The interlocutors discussed the development of cooperation within the OSCE and the enhancement of Kyrgyzstan-Sweden relations, in particular inter-parliamentary cooperation, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.
“This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries. Over these years, we have moved along the path of fruitful cooperation and confirm our readiness to continue our cooperation,” the Speaker of the Parliament said.
The emphasis was placed on the importance of intensifying cooperation at the level of parliamentary friendship groups.
Margareta Cederfelt noted that the OSCE and Sweden attach great importance to multifaceted cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. She expressed hope that the meeting will contribute to promoting bilateral relations.
The interlocutors discussed the quotas for women in the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan and their role in the political life of the country.
