Kyrgyzstan to buy buses for Bishkek soon

On April 9, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov said the issue of purchasing passenger buses for Bishkek should be addressed as soon as possible during a government meeting, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“Funds have been allocated from the republican budget to purchase passenger buses for Bishkek. However, no progress has been made to address this issue. Citizens and guests of the capital continue to face big problems due to insufficient number of buses,” Japarov said.

Earlier, the Bishkek authorities informed of their intention to purchase buses in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

In December last year, Minister of Economy and Trade Daniyar Amangeldiev reported that Kyrgyzstan was going to lease buses from Kazakhstan at 7 percent per annum.

As was reported, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan signed a memorandum on the delivery of Yutong electric, gas and diesel buses in 2022. Amangeldiyev is one of the signatories to the document.
