On April 8, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with EU Special Envoy for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson. During the talks, the President highlighted the importance of expanding humanitarian assistance to the South Asian state, the press office of the President of Tajikistan.
The interlocutors identified the vectors of cooperation in ensuring security and noted the high level of partnerships in addressing challenges and threats to universal human values.
Rahmon said under current conditions, Dushanbe is very concerned about an increase in terrorist activity and cybercrime. He highlighted the need to boost humanitarian aid operations in Afghanistan, noting that Tajikistan is ready to provide its logistics capabilities for these purposes.
Nicklasson also held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin. They emphasised the importance of the inclusive political process in Kabul. The EU Special Envoy discussed security threats on the Tajik-Afghan border with the Minister of Internal Affairs.
