Berdimuhamedov and Overchuk mark vectors of Turkmen-Russian partnership

On April 9, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met for the first time with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, who made an official visit to Ashgabat with the delegation of the Russian Cabinet. The parties discussed further cooperation between the countries. It was reported by «Turkmenistan today».

Berdimuhamedov and Overchuk drew attention to the great potential for cooperation in trade, economy, fuel and energy complex, agriculture, industry, transport, logistics, construction, and geology.

Focus was made on the importance of strengthening ties in science, education, tourism and sport. The negotiations were partly dedicated to the issues of interstate cooperation in the development of the Caspian Sea, the construction of ships. Moscow is ready to activate cargo transportation through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, which is an important part of the North-South transport route, said Overchuk.

On April 8, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone talk. The heads of states noted the positive dynamics of cooperation in energy, trade, culture and the humanitarian field.
