Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan receives letters from Ambassador of Kazakhstan

On April 6, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sodik Imomi received the newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan Valikhan Turekhanov. The Ambassador presented his letters of credence, and the interlocutors discussed key aspects of interstate relations, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

Discussing the upcoming events, which would mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between the Central Asian republics, the interlocutors paid particular attention to major aspects of interaction between the countries.

They highlighted the importance of strengthening relations within multilateral partnerships and emphasised the prospects for building up trade and economic cooperation and increasing commodity turnover.

Last year, Tajikistan-Kazakhstan commodity turnover amounted to about $1.2 billion. It increased by almost 30 percent. In its structure, more than $820 million account for the imports from Kazakhstan, and $360 million account for the exports from Tajikistan.
