Kazakhstan and Netherlands to enhance relations between foreign ministries

On April 1, a working group of Kazakhstan headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Roman Vasilenko took part in political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands. The parties considered further expansion of cooperation between the two states within the UN, OSCE, EU and other international organisations, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Discussing key aspects of trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors noted the dynamic development of trade: over the past year, bilateral trade amounted to US$4.6 billion, which is 35% more than in 2020. Since 2005 direct investment of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan have risen to over US$103.3 billion, which makes the Netherlands the largest foreign investor in Kazakhstan.

The interlocutors discussed the efforts of the world community to end the martial law in Ukraine and provide humanitarian assistance to local citizens and other people in need.

Expressing satisfaction with the gradual expansion of bilateral cooperation, the parties agreed to continue joint activities in all areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as to hold a number of joint events to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states.
