President of Uzbekistan meets with Russia delegation

On March 25, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the international investment forum, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The head of the Russia delegation conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from RF President Vladimir Putin to the President of Uzbekistan.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in the context of the implementation of bilateral agreements.

The talks focused on building up trade and economic partnerships and industrial cooperation. The interlocutors noted the positive dynamics of Uzbekistan-Russia trade over the past year, which amounted to US$7.5 billion. In the first three months of 2022, growth rates of bilateral trade exceeded 50 percent.

More than 2,000 joint ventures with the Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan, and the volume of investments from Russia exceeds US$10 billion.
