Authorities of Kyrgyzstan consider ending coronavirus state of emergency

On March 24, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov instructed the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health to jointly consider ending the coronavirus state of emergency at the meeting of the Task Force to Combat Coronavirus, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The Ministry of Health provided data on the current epidemic situation in the country that remains stable and reported on the COVID-19 vaccination rate.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was tasked to consider removing the need for travellers crossing the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border to take the compulsory COVID-19 rapid test.

The plenipotentiary representatives of the Resident in the regions were tasked to continue the vaccination campaign jointly with the Ministry of Health.

As was reported, the Government declared the state of emergency on March 22, 2020.

Earlier, Director at the Republican Science and Practical Centre for the Control of Viral Infections Zuridin Nurmatov reported that 89.7 percent of the population in Kyrgyzstan have been fully vaccinated.
