Details of Asian Cycling Championships in Dushanbe unveiled

The Republic of Tajikistan hosts the Asian Cycling Championships for the first time. The sporting event will take place in Dushanbe from 25 to 30 March. It will bring together 428 athletes from 27 countries of the world, including athletes with disabilities, the press office of the Union Cycliste Internationale reported.

The participants of the Championships are divided into three categories: the younger generation (19-23-year-olds), adults and athletes with disabilities. In total, the programme includes 18 men’s and women’s races.

President of the Asian Cycling Federation Sheikh Osama Ahmad Al-Shafar said the tournament will be a grand sporting event for the entire continent. The teams will compete in races at different distances.

The Asian Cycling Championships is an annual continental cycling championships since 1963 and combines competitions on road and track cycling. Since 2017, these competitors are held separately. Bahrain, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates hosted the Asian Road Cycling Championships.
