EAEU member countries increase duty-free limits

On March 18, First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev chaired a regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow during his working visit. The agenda covered about 30 issues, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The participants agreed on a list of measures to be taken to improve economic sustainability, which is grouped into 4 areas.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission temporarily increased the duty-free limit for individuals to 1,000 euros for goods transported by a carrier or sent by mail.

The limit has been increased until October 1, 2022. If the value of the parcel exceeds this amount or it weighs more than 31 kg, a sender will be required to pay a 15% fee of the order value, not less than 2 euros per 1 kg.

The EEC is going to support citizens who buy goods from foreign online stores and prevent product shortages.

The members of the EEC Council considered the possibility of simplifying and accelerating the registration procedure for medical products.
