Tajikistan aims to promote e-commerce

On March 16, the Consultative Council on improvement of the investment climate chaired by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held its 22nd meeting in Dushanbe. The meeting highlighted the importance of surging the potential of e-commerce, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

Noting that e-services were provided partially to entrepreneurs and investors of the country, the leader of Tajikistan said virtual trading operations are particularly effective during the pandemic. Online commerce will reduce the cost of cashless payments.

The electronic system will contribute to creating transparent relationships between state inspection bodies and businesses. The President of Tajikistan noted that this will allow detecting and correcting shortcomings much faster and effectively. The decisions are aimed at improving the investment climate in the industrial sector.

With the view to improving online public services for entrepreneurs and investors, the Sohibkor mobile application has been created. It is available in Tajik, Russian and English.

Rahmon instructed to develop and adopt the Law on E-Commerce as soon as possible.
