Energy ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan meet in Nur-Sultan

On March 1, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov met with Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Bolat Achkulakov in Nur-Sultan, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

The talks focused on the prospects for boosting bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The ministers noted the sustainable and progressive development of partnerships in the power industry. Electric power is supplied and transited within the Unified Regional Electricity Grid, and frequency regulation services are provided on a regular basis.

The two countries successfully cooperate in exporting natural gas to the south of Kazakhstan and the petroleum products, including polypropylene, polyethylene and technical lubricants, from Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan exports oil to Uzbekistan.

The energy ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan drew up an action plan and identified effective approaches to enhancing cooperation.
