On February 21, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, presidential candidate, met with voters from the Dashoguz province. He presented the main parts of his election program, and the plans for the development of the region in case of victory in the elections, as reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
The official noted that his program includes comprehensive work to improve the image of Turkmenistan on the world arena. The emphasis will be placed on the implementation of the national program of social and economic development for the next 30 years. The focus will also be made on the prosperity of the country.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that, along with other regions, he would pay special attention to the Dashoguz province, recalling that the Great Silk Road ran through the relevant territory in ancient times. He also stated that he would continue the work of current President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The relevant tasks include the construction of residential buildings, provision of citizens with clean drinking water, rationalization of water resources, development of domestic and international tourism, the construction of new schools, kindergartens, and roads, in particular the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highways and the Dashoguz-Ruhubelent and Dashoguz-Kunya-Urgench highways.
The Deputy Prime Minister plans to widely support businessmen, especially in the agricultural sector; stimulate private producers; develop health care; protect the environment; improve social and living conditions of people.
