Tajikistan to develop AI to detect fake news about vaccines

In the Republic of Tajikistan, the work is underway on artificial intelligence that will help everyone who wants to check the authenticity of the news about coronavirus vaccines. The project is being developed by the first AI laboratory in Central Asia, the MIR 24 TV channel reported on February 20.

Noting that this is a great achievement, Director at the laboratory Azizjon Azimi said Tajik specialists and experts of Microsoft Corporation are working on the project.

Artificial intelligence will be useful to journalists who need to check the bias of any source. They can use open-source software to upload the text of the news article. A special algorithm will check the authenticity of the news.

As reported, the above laboratory opened on June 8, 2021. Currently, it has no analogues in Central Asia. Its main goal is to encourage interest and provide young people with opportunities in this field. An academy operates under the laboratory. The average age of students is 12-15 years old.

In Tajikistan, artificial intelligence is studied in accordance with the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon.
