Uzbekistan and Pakistan bring economic partnerships up to new level

On February 16, a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, headed by First Deputy Minister of Commerce Muhammad Sualeh Faruqui met with the representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, the press office of the Ministry reported.

The talks focused on building up bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, transport, logistics and investment sectors.

The parties discussed the progress of endorsing the draft preferential trade agreement between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and discussed the draft Roadmap for the implementation of the transit trade agreement between two friendly states, reached during the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed the progress of the implementation of the Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway project.

The information on the upcoming visits of the delegations of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Pakistan to Uzbekistan was presented.

The parties expressed their intention to continue fruitful cooperation between the two states in key areas.

The Pakistan delegation will hold meetings with representatives of the ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Transport, the Central Bank and the State Customs Committee during their visit in Uzbekistan.
