On February 7, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Executive Secretary of the Nur Otan Party – the major political party in the Republic Askhat Oralov, who reported on the current work of the party activists, the press office of Akorda reported.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was informed about the plans for transformation of the main functions of the Party. In collaboration with the faction in the Mazhilis the central body is analysing the progress in the implementation of the roadmaps to put the election concept into practice, Oralov said.
Commenting on the report, the leader of the Nur Otan Party set the task to accelerate the modernization of Nur Otan’s activities.
The President emphasised that the Party that should respond substantially to today’s challenges needed to improve systemically in this vector. Nur Otan should made its functional activities mobile and fully meet the needs of citizens of Kazakhstan, the President noted.
As was reported, following the conclusion of the voting procedure and in accordance with the resolution, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was elected as Chairman of the Nur Otan Party on January 28 and replaced Nursultan Nazarbayev. Speaking at the meeting, the President called on the society to stop “replicating” various insinuations around the political image of Elbasy in social media, emphasising Elbasy’s tremendous contribution as the founder of a strong sovereign state.
