The 7th International Science Conference “Alisher Navoi and the 21st century” was held in Tashkent to mark the 850th birth anniversary of the world-famous Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi, the UzA National News Agency reports.
The online conference took place at Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature.
Orientalists and experts in Alisher Navoi’s creative legacy from Uzbekistan and other countries, including Russia, the USA, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey participated in the event.
Rector at Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of the Uzbek Language and Literature Professor Shukhrat Sirojiddinov addressed a welcome speech to the participants.
Vice-President at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Isa Habibeyli, Professor at the Istanbul University Emek Usenmez and participants from other countries presented reports. The report on the role of Navoi’s literary work in world culture presented in fluent Uzbek by Associate Professor at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, M. Lomonosov Moscow State University Darya Zhigulskaya was of particular interest.
