Kyrgyzstan to ease quarantine requirements in coming weeks

On February 3, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov chaired a regular meeting of the Task Force to Combat Coronavirus. The meeting participants discussed the current epidemiological situation in the country, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“Based on the data on coronavirus testing and hospitalizations, we can say the country has passed the peak of the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections,” Deputy Health Minister Ulukbek Bekturganov said.

The press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reported that the possibility of cancelling the verification of a PCR test in citizens arriving in the Kyrgyz Republic was considered.

Following the discussion, the decision was made to elaborate on this issue in the near future, taking into account international practice and health regulations.

The authorities of Kyrgyzstan also plan to start easing the quarantine requirements in the next few weeks.

The participants discussed the issues related to the supply and provision of oxygen stations to regional healthcare institutions. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance were tasked to provide loans to local liquid oxygen manufacturers.
