Turkmenistan and Afghanistan sign contract on transmission line

In Kabul, following four days of negotiations, the Turkmen state corporation Turkmenenergo and the Afghan government company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) signed an agreement on expanding the power supply to the Nur Al Jihad substation. It was reported by the press office of DABS on January 28.

The above substation was put into operation recently. It is located in the western part of the South Asian republic. The power supply to the installation will be expanded from 110 to 220 kilovolts.

On the same day the Afghan, Turkmen and Turkish (Calik Enerji) parties  signed a protocol on the development of the energy sector. As part of the talks, they discussed the projects of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan transmission line and the 500-kilovolt Sheberghan-Dashti-Alvan transmission line.

Acting Minister of Energy of Afghanistan Abdullatif Mansur called on Ashgabat to invest and implement more economic projects in the republic. He also underlined the correct policy of Turkmenistan towards Afghanistan.
