Ashgabat and Baku show progress within agreement on Dostluk deposit

On January 27, via videoconference, Turkmen officials and their colleagues from Baku held talks on the development of an agreement on the exploration of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea. This is the fourth meeting of the relevant Turkmen-Azerbaijani working group. It was reported by the press office of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

The co-chairs of the group discussed the draft protocol of the next talks. The experts provided information on the development of the situation in the relevant direction.

The meeting participants stressed that Ashgabat and Baku have made progress in developing the above agreement. The civil servants reached mutual understanding regarding the harmonization of the appendices of the agreement.

The experts were instructed to intensify work on the preparation of draft documents that affect the interests of the investor-contractor. The officials also signed the protocol.

In January 2021, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan Rashid Meredov and Jeyhun Bayramov signed an intergovernmental memorandum of understanding on joint exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field.
