Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Farrukh Sharifzoda took part in a science conference in Ashgabat. He expressed gratitude to the local authorities for supporting a number of important initiatives of President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported on January 24.
Sharifzoda emphasised that this support was provided in the final document of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, which took place in the Avaza national tourism zone on August 6 last year.
In particular, Ashgabat supported Rahmon’s proposals to hold the Water for Sustainable Development Conference and announce 2025 as the International Year for Preservation of Glacier. The Turkmen side also highly evaluated the initiative of Dushanbe to set up a global fund for glacier conservation.
The science conference in Ashgabat was devoted to the publication of a number of books of the interviews of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the foreign media on the outcomes of the above-mentioned Consultative Meeting and the 15th ECO Summit.
