President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov criticized the work of local officials in the field of road construction. The topic was raised during a working meeting, which was attended by the governors and the mayor of Ashgabat on January 24. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
According to the leader of the country, the level of road construction work in the state has decreased. Equipment is not used at full capacity, there are not enough spare parts. Berdimuhamedov underlined that the situation negatively affects the maintenance of roads and the laying of new ones.
The President drew attention to the fact that he personally discovered the above problems during working trips to the regions. He said that the pace of road construction in the regions does not meet modern requirements.
Prosecutor General Batyr Atdaev was instructed to continue investigations of the problems with the quality of road construction in the country.
