Batken journalists offer authorities options for regional development

On January 19, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev met with activists and journalists, who widely cover the social and economic development of Batken Region. The First Deputy Prime Minister told his interlocutors that a special status of the region would enable to encourage business activity, increase employment opportunities and promote the development of the region, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Kozhoshev emphasised that effective coordination among government agencies, civil society and the media would allow improving the life of the people of the region.

The journalists and activists from Batken Region received answers to a number of questions and made proposals for the further implementation of the regional development programme.

It was noted that civil society was ready to closely cooperate with local authorities to develop Batken Region.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also informed the interlocutors about the preferential tax and investment regimes for entrepreneurs in Batken Region.
