Tajikistan-China trade turnover increases by 78%

On January 17, the China-Central Asia forum took place via videoconference. Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda represented Tajikistan at the virtual meeting. It was noted that trade turnover between Dushanbe and Beijing increased last year, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reports.

Zavkizoda emphasised that thanks to the wise policy of President Emomali Rahmon and the leadership of the People’s Republic of China, bilateral trade and economic relations were becoming stronger with every passing year.

In 2021, China-Tajikistan trade increased by 78% compared to 2020. The Celestial Empire ranks fourth with a specific weight of 13.2% in the structure of external trade turnover of the Central Asian country.

Minister of Commerce of the PRC Wang Wentao said the Ministry was ready to concert efforts with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan to promote economic cooperation.
