Mirziyoyev considers tasks of developing new mahallabay system

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the current tasks of developing a new mahallabay mechanism and ensuring employment in 2022. The officials were tasked to take appropriate measures, including the allocation of sown areas, provision of incubators to mahallas jointly with businessmen and development of the purchasing system of agricultural products, the press office of the President reported.

In 2021, GDP in Uzbekistan rose by 7.4% through taking active reforms, promoting business activities and taking effective measures at the mahalla level. The number of self-employed workers increased by 700,000 and amounted to 1.2 million. Since the beginning of 2022, 9,300 khokim assistants have started to work. The Agency for Mahallabay Support and Entrepreneurship Promotion, which is responsible for this system, has resumed its work, and all organisational issues have been addressed.

The officials were instructed to take measures to train families who want but do not have enough resources to do their business and provide them with benefits, subsidies or farmlands. For these purposes, 10 trillion soums in concessional loans and 2.5 trillion soums in subsidies will be allocated.

The emphasis should be placed on the provision of these families with equipment and working tools to promote business and agriculture in mahallas.
