In accordance with the Order of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, citizens will access information through virtual instruments on all financial resources coming from mining companies to the regional development funds. The press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reported to CentralAsia.news on January 13.
The Order came into force on January 29 last year. The document aims to promote reforms in the mining sector.
The Open Budget portal was launched at budget.okmot.kg through the efforts of the state agencies. Every citizen of Kyrgyzstan can see in what sector, when and to what extent the money of mining enterprises directed to the regional development funds was spent.
According to the Government, the main goals of the work done are to ensure transparency of the expenditure of financial resources coming from the above companies and to establish civil control over the use of these resources.
The regional development funds are open to funding infrastructure development and maintenance.
